The PowerBook G3 Wallstreet was a genuine landmark — the first laptop whose processor outperformed Apple's desktop Macs. Running at 233–300 MHz, it benchmarked faster than the Power Mac G3 desktops it launched alongside, a fact Apple used in advertising. Two expansion bays could hold two batteries, an optical drive, or any combination. Professionals who had been skeptical of laptops started buying them in large numbers.
